NEWS ALERT: RAMP TO SPEEDWAY CLOSED

Effective July 5th through the end of the year (2010) the Crawfordsville Rd Exit (Exit 16A) for south bound traffic on I-465 will be closed. This closure is necessitated by the I-465 construction upgrade. Travelers headed to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway can exit at 38th Street from the south bound lanes on I-465, go east 1.7 miles to Georgetown Rd., turn right and head south 2 miles to the track. North bound traffic on I-465 will be able to exit at the Crawfordsville Rd. exit.

Luke Bryan To Perform At The Brickyard 400

Capital Records recording star Luke Bryan will entertain Brickyard 400 fans on July 24, 2010 on the Pagoda Plaza Stage in the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Miller Light Cars and Guitars concert begins at Noon (ET) and is free for fans already admitted to the speedway for Brickyard 400 qualifications. The Leesburg , Georgia native hit the country charts in 2007 with “All my friends say”, “We rode in trucks”, and “Country Man”. He is a rising star in the country music scene and sure to please the Brickyard fans with his own brand of down home country. There is no reserved seating, so arrive early if you want to be close to the stage.

BRICKYARD 400 GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway recently announced that general admission tickets will be sold for the 2010 Brickyard 400. This is a departure from prior years when only fans with reserved seating tickets or suite passes were granted admission to the speedway on race day.

The new policy also has a family friendly feature which allows children under the age of 12 to enter free when accompanied by an adult with a general admission ticket. The tickets are $40.00 each. They can be purchase from the IMS ticket office at 4790 W. 16^th Street, Indianapolis, IN. 46222. You can also reach them by telephone at 1-800-822-4639.

This announcement is certain to attract a large crowd in turn 3 of the infield, just as the Indy 500 does each year. Turn 3 is well known for its party-like atmosphere, which many fans describe as a carryover from the old Snake Pit days in turn 1. Fans who need to watch their budgets will surely be pleased with this new policy.
